Yea, I'm on the internet. Unfortunately, it is not mine:( We have phone and cable, but no internet (which is weird since it is all digital and all Cox). I call everyday, but apparently things are just a mess. So who knows. We also currently have power, but I am witnessing Ike right now, so the power situation could change any minute. The wind gusts are up to 60 mph. And everything is blowing away, I'll find my plants later. Jordan's parents are letting us use their phone card for a few days. I don't have much to say, but since I can get online...I'm gonna find something.
We have gotten to see more of the damage since we've been home. I have some pictures to post when I can. The pics above are from Entergy, they had about 30 of these giant metal "things" down. Most of the damage in our area was caused by falling trees, Denham Springs had over 1000 trees down on the streets. So who knows how many fell. We lost shingles and a giant piece of siding on the front of the house. But miraculously, it came back. We found the it in the yard and Jordan got it back up. Our only permenant damage was our trees. They are leaning over. It's sad. I was hoping Ike would blow in the other way and straighten them up. But no luck so far. Right now I'm just grateful they are still standing.
Our curfew has been lifted and school started back for our parish this week, and we were SO GLAD to get back. I hate that Texas will get Ike...but I couldn't take another week of NOTHING TO DO. Businesses and restaraunts haven't been open and they only let a certain number of people into Walmart at a time...so you have to wait in a long line outside with your three wild boys holding a "courtesy" umbrella to try to keep from getting a serious sunburn. I used my umbrella to spank my children. Anyway, we finally got to go in and the only meat they had in the whole store was spam. We left with milk and cheese and when we got home it turned out that my cheese was moldy. Anyway...all that to say "so sorry Texas, hurricanes are no fun".
Tomorrow, Ike willing, Eli will go to his first LSU game. This is a BIG moment in a Kilpatrick's life. And we are so proud. This will be Caleb's second game. They will watch LSU play North Texas. (They don't get to go to good games, but they don't know that...yet) Jordan and his dad will take them and they are SO excited (Eli and Caleb, not Jordan and his dad). I give them until the 2nd quarter. The guy that sits in front of us at the games nicknamed Caleb "kidney kickers" at his first game. I'm interested to here what he comes up with for Eli. Well, the cable just went out so I'll wrap this up before the power goes!

Your message is so serious and when I got to the part about you spanking your boys with the umbrella I started dying laughing. Sorry.. I hope your guys enjoy the game, and hopefully you will be able to get out and enjoy yourself during that time as well. Keep in touch!
