The Inevitable

It finally happened, not even a month after Christmas...Caleb broke his arm. It was on the trampoline, but I do have to say it wasn't entirely the trampoline's fault. Caleb was running around the outside of the "cage", you know, the little skinny part. Eli was on the inside and from what we can understand, he was doing some sort of target practice. He was running himself into Caleb, most likely TRYING to knock him off. Sounds about right. Anyway, Calebs' arm is broke, it has a couple of small fractures, and his ulna and radius (forearm bones) are both bent. It happened on Monday and Jordan and I being "parents of the year" finally took him in yesterday to have it checked out. To our defense he is always a little dramatic...this time he was being serious.
Anyway, he was very excited about his cast and even more excited to get an x-ray because and I quote "I've never got to see anything that starts with the letter x before". The boy loves his letters. I don't think cast reality has set in yet. The Dr. gave us the "cast rules" which are no playing with dirt, rocks, water, and no jumping on the trampoline. Wow. Wish us luck with that. I'm afraid it's going to be a long 4 weeks. Here are some pics of Caleb's LSU (of course) cast...

This is Caleb and his "waterless" ocean. I told him no water in his ocean until his cast comes off he said okay and when I came back out to check on him, I saw that he had just used a rock/sand mixture instead. Uh, oh.
