A Day of Doctors

So things have been crazy busy around here. We all started school on the 7th, we are getting into a good routine. The boys are all at the school I'm teaching at...which is wonderful! It is so good to see them throughout the day! I'm enjoying teaching first grade, 6 year old's are interesting.
A real downside of school is all the new germs that come with it. So of course all of my boys immediately get colds. Yesterday I took Eli in because he is a snot bucket and one of his ears is draining (which is a good thing) and it is messy. We left right after school and Eli's Dr. confirms that his tube has come out of one of his ears and is full of fluid we go back for a recheck in 2 weeks, if it isn't better we'll do our 3rd set of tubes. So we are out of there around 5 we hit the store and go home and I make dinner.
Then Caleb comes out playing Dr. which is so cute since our Dr. kit is for infants and he has the stethescope squeezed onto his face. Then he says his funny thing for the day. "Mom is this how this goes; In your ears like this?" I say yes. "Does it go in ears so that the Dr. can listen to the voice in my heart?" He is always making me laugh!
Then I hear the crash...not unusual in my house. I listen for abnormal crying. Everything sounds good. I keep cooking. Then my sister comes around the corner with a bleeding Micah. He has either been pushed or fallen (Eli keeps changing his story) off his bed, which he was probably jumping on. In the process he has bitten through his lip. Yep, through it. Yuck. We ice him down and get it to stop bleeding.

So now it's around 7. We eat dinner and notice that when Micah eats he bleeds more. My sis works at a hospital so she calls and the ER Dr. says we can come through the back and she'll see if he needs stitches. Jordan gets home from the football game he was at around 8:30 and me my sis and Micah head off. The dr. takes a look and says yep he'll need ONE. So we wait for a while and he gets his stitch. We get home around midnight.

This is our first set of stitches and just being one I don't know if it counts. Needless to say we were (and some of us still are) pooped. And that was our long day of Doctors!

I had no idea you were teaching! Bless your heart for handling 1st graders!

The kids started KDO today. They have Megan McEuen as their teacher...LOVE her! Such a turnaround from last year.
