Christmas Things

The three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are torturous for teachers. I cannot describe the amount of stuff that has to get done. And let's just go ahead and say that 6 year old's are not ready for glue...this is also a good time to say that no matter how much elmer's is used, beads do not stick to a pine cone. Hot glue works though. And although my fingerprints have been burned off; Pine cones decorated with beads, glued to a plate, surrounded by cotton, and sprinkled with baby powder do make a cute gift for parents. I was to tired to remember to bring my camera to take a picture (you'll have to imagine the cuteness).
Speaking of cuteness...the "Cowboy Christmas" lives on. We got the tree up a while back and the boys were actually interested in decorating this year. That has its ups and downs. The down being the broken ornaments and the fact that they are ALL hanging on the same branch. I rearranged after they went to bed. I'm sure there is an up, maybe it is just the sweet memories:)

Jordan was on the ball this year with the outside lights.

The first weekend in December it snowed again! We were in Covington at my mom's that night. It didn't start snowing til late. We let the boys stay up and we had a quick snowball fight. Mom made homemade hot chocolate...it was yummy. The snow was gone when we woke up the next morning.
We've done 2 Christmas programs. Caleb was in one and the two little guys were in a separate one. Caleb was a general choir member, but our music teacher choreographs every song. So they had to dance the whole time they sang. It was so cute (and so funny)!
Before the show...

With J.R. ...

In his spot...

In the little guys program Micah was an angel and Eli was a choir member. Eli dug in his ear for most of the program but every now and then he'd dance and sing. Micah kept taking his "crown" off, but he was such a sweet angel. I don't have any pictures of their program since my camera was left at home.

I decided to do something a little risky this year. Homemade teacher gifts. I think they turned out cute...I hope they like them. I could have taken the easy way out and bought something, but my mom convinced me to enter the world of decoupage. So at 2:00 in the morning we were working on these. Sorry, my kitchen cabinets aren't ideal backdrops.

Tomorrow we have parties and a half day of school and then "Let the Christmases Begin"! This weekend we will have 3 of our 6 Christmases!
