Who Dat?

Needless to say the last two weeks have been unique in South Louisiana. I'm from Louisiana so I've always been a "saints fan" but like everyone else I never expected much from them except maybe to blow a good lead in some embarrassing way. I consider myself an optimistic person, but I have NEVER been optimistic about the saints. I've even been to a few Saints games and I have yet to see them win in person. Last night changed it all. In my neighborhood outside of Baton Rouge an hour away from New Orleans...people were running down the streets screaming, fireworks were booming, airhorns were blowing, and we had a full blown block party. A jazz musician from N.O. made a good comparison about the saints winning the superbowl. He said, "It is like waiting 43 years for someone to say 'I love you' back." So "GEAUX SAINTS"!
We had a Louisianian weekend all around. We had a Saints tailgate party at school on Friday and then on Saturday we headed to Covington for my favorite Krewe of Olympia parade. It was like one big Saints tailgate party. It was freezing cold so we headed to Cafe du Monde after for some beignets and cafe au lait. We had 9 kids under 6 with us...lets just say the Cafe du Monde people are going to be cleaning up powdered sugar for days. The boys had a blast at the parade and Mardi Gras is alot more fun now that they "get it". We are thinking about taking them to some bigger parades in N.O...but we'll see. I mean are we gluttons for punishment or what?
I realize that this post would be so much more fun to read with some visuals...but I am now in the market for a new camera that doesn't rely on me to replace the batteries every time I want to take a picture.
