Memorial Day and Micah's Birthday!

For Memorial Day weekend we took a family road trip! On Thursday we went up to Ruston, after we left the After Hours Emergency room (of course). Detour...On our way out the door (literally), Caleb announces that his finger hurts. I take a quick look and notice that I can't see his fingernail on his pointer finger. Some sort of huge blister had taken over and his finger was enormous and red with red streaks going down it. Bad sign. Off we went to wait our turn in the after hours clinic. Two and a half hours later with a cellulitis diagnosis and a giant bottle of antibiotics we were on our way! We went to Ruston first and spent the night with Josh and Leigh and the little girls. On Friday morning, after a yummy pancake breakfast, we drove up to my grandparents house in Little Rock. We had a great time catching up and eating lunch. The boys filled their pockets with bugs and then we drove up to Fayetteville. We stayed with our good friends Nate and Alicia and their 4 kiddos.
Saturday was Micah Man's Birthday. I can't believe my baby boy is 4. He wants to "grow" so bad so he is pumped to be a 4 year old. He opened some presents and then we left to go rafting on the Elk River.

We rafted most of the day. It was beautiful. The water was a little chilly for my Louisiana blood but we had a great time!




Relax, it's your birthday!

Caleb was a little nervous about the whole rafting thing but he eventually warmed up to it. He wouldn't get in the water b/c there were a bazillion turtles and since the turtle attack he's been a little nervous about them.

On Sunday we went to church, and then had some slip and slide fun while the boys played golf. We went to feed the ducks at the park and then to dinner and then coffee with some good friends. It was a marathon day and these moms' were TIRED.





Early Monday morning we headed South. We had a wonderful trip and it was so good to see our Arkansan friends.
Friday we celebrated Micah's birthday with the fam. No pictures of course b/c my camera was safe at home. We were going to go to the water park but we had a torrential rain that day so instead we went to Covington and celebrated at chic-fil-a with the cow and then to see Shrek Forever After. He had a wonderful day! Happy Birthday Micah Man!!
