Christmas and New Years in a nutshell...with a few pics.

Let me just start this post by saying if I'm not taking pictures...pictures aren't happening. We had 6 Christmases (7 including Santa) and I have 8 pictures. I was not on the ball with the camera this year:( I did get to play Santa twice which I really enjoyed.
Anyway, we are so blessed to have such big families...we always have big Christmases that go on and on. I love it. This year was no exception. It was a little different this year because Jordan's mom and dad live in Texas now. So the weekend before Christmas all of the Kilpatrick's met in Ruston. We did our Christmas with Jordan's mom and dad and brothers at my sisters house. Jordan and I got a blu ray:) The next day we did Christmas with his entire family at his aunts house. That is always a great time and great, great food. On Sunday Jordan's mom dad and brothers left and came to Baton Rouge with us. We walked in my house, got dressed, cooked, and left for our 3rd Christmas of the weekend in Gonzales. Jordan's mom's family does a gumbo Christmas. Once again the food was incredible. The cousin whose house we have it at is a gator hunter and has some great stories and incredible pictures.
Jordan's family left late Monday. Jordan and I did gifts on Tuesday because he was playing golf with my dad on Wednesday and I wanted him to wear my present. An LSU golf shirt and a new LSU hat! Jordan had a much better year. He got me some rings from Grandmothers Buttons, my fave jewelry store in St. Francisville (check it out...they are online). All of jewelry is made from beautiful antique buttons.
Anywho, on Christmas eve we woke up and let the boys open presents from us since we leave on Christmas morning. Oh and yes...this is when I took pictures.

The boys played with their new toys for a while and then we drove over to Covington. Jordan's grandma fell the week before and broke some bones in her face, she had to have surgery so mom and I cooked Christmas dinner for them and brought it over. Jordan had the task of putting together the new bikes mom got the boys for Christmas. Josh and Leigh got in with the girls, we visited a while and then headed home. On our way home we looked at Christmas lights. Jordan and I do a "worst Christmas light award" sadly this year the worst christmas lighter was in our own neighborhood and even worse on our street.
And the winner is...

These are net lights that are made for (and should only be used for) putting on bushes. This guy strung them up across his front porch. And they blink no less.
When we got home we tracked Santa, put out the reindeer food, and milk and cookies. Caleb was really into it this year. When he went to be he devised a plan that if didn't cover up Santa would give him his coat so he wouldn't be too cold. How cute. The boys were up early and loved all their gifts. They played for a little bit we packed up and headed to Covington for Christmas with my family.
My mom has 8 grandchildren between the ages of 6 and 1. Christmas is WILD. We had a great time and more great food. My dad and Maria came over to mom's in the afternoon and we had our final Christmas.
The theme of Christmas this year is tiny pieces. Everything the boys wanted has like 200 pieces. I invested in a closet organizer thing. Caleb did get a level 5 transformer...Jordan is still trying to figure it out.
We spent the night in Covington and the next day met up with my dad and took the kids to the aquarium and lunch in the french quarter. That afternoon we went shopping. We came back home that night. The next day 3 of Jordan's brothers and a friend came in from Texas. It's been fun having them in and out.
Jordan and I actually went out for New Years this year. We went with a bunch of friends to Ruffino's (a yummy Italian restaurant). New Years Day we did nothing. It was wonderful.
Well, I'm off to paint. One of my New Years resolutions is to not ever let my carport look the way it does now. I've got ton's of furniture calling my name.
