We live less than 2 miles from a chemical plant. It produces soap for large ships and oil for cars. It exploded. We didn't hear the initial explosion but it burned for more than 12 hours. There were several smaller explosions and helicopters were everywhere, sirens were constant. I imagine that is kind of what living in a war zone must be like. Jordan could see the smoke from downtown BR...20 miles away. They evacuated everyone within a mile of the plant. The wind blew all the smoke in the opposite direction of the house, we were grateful for that.
On Wednesday we went to the Capital and had a picnic lunch with Jordan. The Capital grounds are beautiful and there is a lake/pond with all sorts of wildlife. Sadly, it is not the kind of wildlife you want to eat near. We saw 3, yes 3, huge water moccasins. It was hard for me to enjoy lunch after that...but of course the boys were in heaven. We also saw a bazillion ducks and lots of nutria rats. Rat gives them a bad name, but they really are cute. They look like little otters...sort of. But we saw a baby one and it was my fave.
Here is the lake/pond. The only shot I got before my camera battery died (of course).
We did eggs on Sat. night. I found a "monster egg kit" at the store and grabbed it. It was lots of fun.
The Easter Bunny came...
After church we went over Covington for lunch at Jordan's grandparent's house. My mom, sis, and JR all came and ate. It was a WONDERFUL lunch. I made about 20 attempts at a good easter pic of the boys. I didn't get any. Micah was pouting about something and the other two are just goofballs. I handed off the camera to JR, a professional, and he got some good egg hunting shots.
Taking a picture shouldn't be this difficult.
Egg hunting...
After that we took the boys to see "How to Train your Dragon" it was cute. Caleb is really into prosthetic limbs right now. Who knows why...I'm sure it was either on a commercial (he is a sucker for marketing) or Animal Planet. Anywho, the movie was right up his alley. Although, someone needs to request 3D glasses for kids. ALL kids movies are in 3D now and those glasses are big for MY head. Micah doesn't stand a chance.
Well, I will ramble no more. I now realize I could have made this giant post into about 9 little posts...but too late.

Sounds like eating lunch at my house with the snakes. They're definitely out! :[ I love seeing pics of the boys. They're all as handsome as ever. I still think of Eli and smile every time I look at the kitchen table where he left his "mark". Maybe we can have another day of kid fun/chaos this summer!
