Free Fun in South Louisiana

Yesterday the boys and I went over to Covington for my sis in laws birthday party. She and the girls are in town from Wyoming. After dinner we took the boys and my niece, Reece, down the road to Madisonville (which is one of my all time favorite towns). There is bridge there where you can usually see alligators. They did not disappoint this time. This guy saw us and made a beeline. We fed him our leftover cheesecake, but he didn't seem impressed. He just hung out for a while. Two more came by but they didn't get as close.

The road the alligators are on ends at a wharf on Lake Pontchartrain and you can go crabbing. We didn't crab this time but we let the kids see what everyone else was catching. These people will be eating good tonight.

We promised the boys we go next week. That should be very interesting. They'll be wearing their life jackets.
