Eli Day!

On Saturday we celebrated Eli's birthday. We let him pick where he wanted to go for the day. He chose the Audubon Zoo. It turned out to be a beautiful day! We ate lunch at the wonderfully yummy Babylon cafe and did presents and cake.

After that, we headed around the corner to the zoo. Eli immediately ran in and stuck his head in the dino's mouth. A fairly odd tradition.

The other boys hopped on its back, like I'm pretty sure you are supposed to do.

The boys were chosen to part of an animal 'life enhancement' show. They did well. They had to find a treat in some sort of dog thing. The host asked them what treat they would like to find. Caleb announced that he would like to find a crawfish. The boy loves some boiled crawfish.

We hung out at the zoo until it closed. Eli insisted on doing the dino exhibit. I don't know why...because he is TERRIFIED of it. This is how he looks at the dinos, hiding behind my sister. And then, hiding in a tree.

He finds this exhibit the most terrifying and runs past it as fast as he can.

The big dinos outside don't bother him as much.

While there, Caleb discovered his new favorite animal.

After the zoo, we headed across the lake and had dinner with Nana and Buddy. I think he had a great day!

In other news, I have not posted about Caleb losing his 1st tooth! It was fairly unsentimental for a 1st tooth. He told us one night it was loose and he pulled it out himself the next day at school. He wanted to throw it away but his teacher reminded him about the tooth fairy and convinced him to save it. I drug out the picture of when he got that tooth in. He said he was glad to have it out because it was getting "old". Boys. The one "next door" as he says, is loose now and I'm sure he'll pull it out soon.

On Sunday he was baptized. (pics to come) He was so big and spoke into the microphone and told everyone why he was getting baptized. He was prepared for everything except going down backwards. His feet flew up out of the water. I hope the photographer got a picture of that!
Not to much going on with the Micah Man these days. He is rotten. Here is a pic since he didn't get in any at the zoo...he was a grouch.

In baby news, I am officially 12 weeks and praying for morning sickness to go away soon. Last week I got to hear a little heartbeat...that always makes me smile.
