Austin (July 4th)

Thought I'd finally put our Texas pics up. (Better very late than never I guess!) We went to visit Jordan's Mom and Dad (Hunny and Pops) in Austin for the 4th. We happened to visit the same weekend Hurricane Alex did so we had some rain, but hey, it wasn't scorching hot.
On Friday we went to Sea World! Heaven for my sea animal lovin' boys! Micah is doing his "Miss America".





We watched a couple of shows! Eli was cracking up.

Saturday we hung out at home. We hiked around the mountains, hunted for bugs, had a huge lunch, and the boys swam and swam!
Looking for the enormous bug Eli just through over the ledge. This is seconds before Micah shoves Eli over the edge for losing said bug.

Speaking of bugs...I became my boys' hero during this weekend. I was stung in the arm by a scorpion while I was asleep. Terrifying. I knew something had stung me but we couldn't find anything and there was no mark on my arm so I went back to sleep. When I woke up my lips and tongue were numb, my arm hurt, and later I found the scorpion in the bathroom. Terrifying. We called poison control and they said that Maci and I would be fine and that I should get feeling back in my lips within the next few hours. I did. I'm the only person I know that has been stung by a scorpion. The boys introduce me as their mom "who got stung by a scorpion". Love it.

On the 4th we went to the Natural Caverns. They were neato. They are 180 ft. underground. What I didn't think through was the 185 stairs we climbed coming back up. Exhausting. There is one point in the tour where they turn out the lights. It is pitch dark and no noise whatsoever. It is then that Micah says, "Are my eyes open?" It was so cute! Eli asked if we were about to watch a movie. After some cave exploring the boys' mined for arrowheads and fossils. It was a fun day for all!
